Oh THAT kind of cranes.
A number of years ago I was driving through the Judean dessert and approached a number of hills that looked like they were covered with snow. This really startled me because it was still early fall and none of the other hills had snow. As I approached the hills, all of the snow suddenly took flight and there were thousands of cranes flying above me.
