Winter Driving Regulations Go Into Effect In Israel Today, Nov. 1


Today, Thursday, November 1, 2018, winter driving regulations go into effect throughout Israel. Winter regulations compel a driver to have the vehicle headlights on while traveling on an intercity road. Winter driving regulations continue through March 31, 2019.

Buses, taxis, motorcycles are required to have headlights on at all times, including while operating in an urban area. motorcycles must drive with headlights on year-round.

Transportation Ministry officials explain that the obligation to travel with lights on during the day is received at a particularly high level of compliance with the drivers. The fine for driving without lights during the day on intercity roads is 100 shekels plus two points on one’s license.
