Speaking to Sky News in Damascus, Hamas politburo leader Khaled Meshal stated IDF soldier Gilad Shalit is alive and well.
Meshal stated the soldier is being treated well despite the fact “Israel does not treat our prisoners well.”
Shalit was captured by Hamas terrorists near Gaza in June 2006. Hamas has recently released statements blaming Israel for Shalit’s continued release, explaining the government refuses to accept Hamas’ list of prisoners to be included in an exchange deal.

YW Editor: When you write “Hamas has recently released statements blaming Israel for Shalit’s continued release”, you mean they’re blaming Israel for Shalit’s “continued imprisonment”, not “continued release”.
Israel is obviously holding out for something by not bringing their own soldier home; they’re using him as a bargaining chip.
