IDF Recruitment From Bnei Brak, Betar Illit, Elad & Modi’in Illit Stands at 16 Percent

The IDF’s Manpower Division on Tuesday presented the recruitment and service figures in the cities of Israel, as of November 2018. The IDF noted that the ranking was weighted by the following components: 50% recruitment rate, 25% recruitment rate, 25% those becoming officers, based on those soldiers released from the military in 2017.

Top of the list with the highest scores were the cities of Modi’in, Maccabim Reut, Givat Shmuel, Hod HaSharon, Ness Tziona, Kfar Yona, Rosh Ha’ayin, Maale Adumim, Ra’anana and Givatayim.

As for the chareidi cities of Bnei Brak, Modi’in Illit, Elad and Betar Illit; in all these municipalities and cities, the percentage of recruitment stood at slightly more than 16%. These cities are at the bottom of the list of 60 cities in Israel.

Interestingly, the cities of Tel Aviv, Haifa and Bat Yam are absent from the list of leading recruitment cites in Israel for either men or women.

The report states that seven of the top ten schools from which male inductees enter the IDF are religious schools. Leading the list are the Kibbutz S’dei Eliyahu Field School and Yeshivat Sussia. Efrat leads the list among local municipalities.
