Deputy Attorney General Recuses Himself From Deri Case

Deputy Attorney General Raz Nazari informed Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit on Tuesday that he will not take part in meetings pertaining to the case against Shas party chairman, Minister Aryeh Deri due to a conflict of interest.

Nazari explains that his sister Livnat has appointed to be the spokeswoman to the general sector for the Shas election campaign. She served as a strategic advisor to a number of organizations as well as a communications advisor to cabinet minister and MKs, including Ministers Yisrael Katz and Gila Gamliel.

As such, the deputy attorney general has seen fit to recuse himself from the case to avoid any impropriety.
