AGAIN: Violence Against Medical Personnel in Israeli Hospital, This Time at Hadassah Ein Kerem

Violence against medical personnel in hospitals and medical clinics is on the rise in Israel as another attack occurred on Wednesday morning, this time in the emergency room of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.

In this attack, a female patient, 38, attacked a member of the staff while he was taking vital signs, attacking him both physically and verbally.

Hospital security was immediately summoned, as was Israel Police, and the patient was taken by police for questioning. The worker filed an official complaint with police.

Hospital Director Prof. Ze’ev Rothstein adds, “Again, we are witness to unnecessary and regrettable violence against a medical team, which is unacceptable within the confines of Hadassah. The vision of the hospital is to provide humane and compassionate treatment to every person, and there is no room for physical or verbal violence against the staff who do their work faithfully throughout the day. ”
