Jerusalem Mayor Leon Dedicates City’s Second ‘New Home’ To Assist Children


Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon on Monday inaugurated the second center of the ‘New Home’ project in the N’vei Yaakov neighborhood of the northern capital.

In a moving ceremony held at the second New Home Center, Mayor Moshe Leon, Deputy Mayor Eliezer Ruchberger, and Councilman Aryeh King, who holds the community administrative portfolio, were present for the dedication of the second home that supports children with special needs and employs them regardless of religion, color or gender.

Mayor Leon: “The employment opportunities in the second home center provide an opportunity for significant activity and daily interaction of the children in society”.

In addition to employment, the center also has a training center equipped with computers, sewing machines and other aids for the purpose of training and learning, which provide the children with the necessary skills. In addition, the center operates a second-hand shop which offers items at prices suitable for everyone, including low-income residents.
