Two Children R”L Killed In Eretz Yisroel Fires, FD Blamed for One Death

fire9_m1.jpgTwo children were R”L killed in Eretz Yisroel, in two separate fires on Shabbos morning. The first blaze claimed the life of a 6-year-old girl from Hadera, and seriously injured her father, and the second fire was in Lod, and killed a 12-year-old boy.

Eyewitnesses to the Hadera fire claim that the fire department wasted twenty precious minutes before they managed to unfold the turntable ladder and rescue the girl and her father, who stood at the balcony crying for help. After being rescued, the girl R”L died at the hospital, while the father remains in critical condition.

An official investigation has been launched into the handling of the rescue by the Hadera Fire Brigade.

In the Lod fire, the 12-year-old boy was R”L killed after a shack adjacent to his home caught fire. According to a Haaretz report, the fire department arrived at the scene of the blaze, but could not find any victims. Only later it emerged that the boy, who was critically injured, had been trapped inside.

  1. Yes, it has long been known that they have the most unorganized, poorly trained fire department in the developed world of democratic countries. Their terrible lapse in time to arrive on scene has killed more people than terror (public record) this also applies to their failure to arrive in a timely manner to extract people trapped in cars after a crash, and causes many deaths. Why don’t we have a frum hatzolah type unit, or at least a frum “jaws of life” unit?
