Arab Who Attacked A Jewish Man In Jerusalem Must Pay


An Arab male who attacked a Jew in Yerushalayim has been ordered to pay the victim NIS 13,000 as per a plea agreement between the two. Attorney Chaim Bleicher of Honenu stated, “Justice has been served here. We believe the message us seeping through – that whomever harms Jews; in the end, will pay from his money”.

Mustafa Siam will make a compensatory payment in the among of NIS 13,000, including attorney’s and court fees, in line with the agreement reached with the victim. Siam admitted to the attack and after the lawsuit was filed against him, the sides reached an agreement.

The attack occurred seven years ago in Ir David (City of David) in Yerushalayim, where the victim parked his vehicle. When he got out of his car, the attacker shouted, “Jews can’t park here”. The victim refused to move his vehicle and began heading from the site to the Old City. The attacker then issued a threat, “No problem. Leave the vehicle and there won’t be a vehicle!”

The victim then photographed the Arab man and then, the latter attacked him, pushing him and hitting him in his face, breaking his glasses and tearing his shirt. He sustained injuries to his face, head and chest as a result of the assault.

The victim went to the police to report the attack, showing the photo of the attacker. When he returned to his vehicle in the City of David, where he parks his car daily. He found smashed windows and a large stone inside the vehicle.

A week later, the attacker was back. The victim phoned police, and they arrived and arrested the man. He denied attacking anyone or damaging a vehicle. However, the victim’s cellular video provided sufficient evidence for police.

The attacker was released on bail and an indictment was filed against him two years later. He was accused of the attack against the victim and vehicle, and he admitted to his actions as part of the agreement. He will serve two months in jail followed by six months of probation and the compensatory payment mentioned.
