Hamas Spokesman: Israel ‘Avoiding Prisoner Exchange Deal’

A spokesman for the Izzadin el-Qassim military wing of Hamas, Abu Obaidah made a public statement directed at the citizens of Israel on Tuesday, placing the blame for the fact the bodies of Lt. Hadar Goldin HY”D and Sgt. Oren Shaul HY”D have not been returned on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. “He runs from exchange deals, dragging their feet and justify their disregard of the issue by being bodies and remains”, referring to the fact the two are dead and there may only be partial remains to return.

He blames “Those who sent their sons to Gaza in 2014,” and add it is the prime minister’s fault for “causing life in the Gaza vicinity to become hell”.

“If Israel wants to open the file on a prisoner exchange, this is the opportunity, one that will not return for the government that sent the soldiers to Gaza, the same government elected over and over”.

The terrorist spokesman made his comments on the fifth anniversary of Operation Protective Edge, the counter-terrorism military offensive in Gaza during which the two were killed, and their bodies snatched by Hamas.

  1. The reality is such a shame. In prisoner exchanges, the Israeli prisoners return home to be a husband/father/son figure-attending college, yeshiva, or the workplace, etc. With the Hamas prisoners, they return home to become energized and reinvigorated to eventually return to the streets to look to cause more injury or fatalities towards Jews.

  2. This idiot is not Hamas’s spokesman, the media is. If they wouldn’t publisize his words he wouldn’t be heard. It’s astonishing what the media is willing to do to increase some ratings. Wreaking havoc and fear on the population by carrying out Hamas’s plans. The media is the enemy.
