Histadrut National Labor Federation Chairman Arnon Bar-David and chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee, MK (Yahadut Hatorah) Moshe Gafne, visited Bnei Brak’s Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital. Bar-David: I met with the wonderful varied administration and employees from all sectors, and I feel this is a venue in which one can bridge between the Histadrut and the chareidi sector.

Histadrut National Labor Federation Chairman Arnon Bar-David visited Bnei Brak’s Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital on Sunday, escorted by MK Moshe Gafne, who chairs the Knesset Finance Committee.

During the visit, the CEO of the hospital, Shlomo Rothschild, showed Bar-David and Gafne the new mental health clinic and inpatient wards. Gafne and Bar-David then toured the emergency room, intensive care units, the cardiac unit and additional areas of the hospital.

A new collective agreement was signed between the hospital, the nurses’ union and the Histadrut in the past year and now, talks are ongoing between the labor federation towards a deal between the hospital’s administrative and maintenance staff. Bar-David stated, “Over the years, I have learned to identify the working atmosphere in Mayanei HaYeshua as one of a good-spirited venue, one of giving. There is no doubt that we will succeed in reaching a high-level collective agreement with the hospital, which does outstanding work. I see your big hearts and I salute you. This is a special hospital, in which there are staff members who are secular, working alongside chareidim and the patient population is varied. I feel that I have arrived at a place in which we can bridge between the Histadrut and the chareidi sector”.

Gafne stressed the need to maintain the ability of Mayanei HaYeshua, to continue providing care to the kehilla. “Mayanei HaYeshua is a test which the chareidi tzibur stands by proudly. It has been proven that we can actualize a project of this magnitude due to the merit of Dr. Moshe Rothschild Z”L, who founded the medical center with his ten fingers. Together with Histadrut Chairman Bar-David, we ask today to expect that our future is turned towards receiving the necessary resources to permit us to continue, develop and maintain this place at to reach its summit”.

Hospital CEO Rothschild added: “The hospital was built on the sanctity and respect of life and this is realized in all facets of our operations. This is the reason Mayanei HaYeshua is the only kehilla hospital in Israel. We thank the chairman, Mr. Bar-David, who chose to include us in one of his first visits in his new position, here in the hospital, and to one who escorts Mayanei HaYeshua with his entire heart, from the first day, MK Moshe Gafne, who has come to visit us and you honor us with your presence”.
