Pipe Bomb Explodes In Bnei Brak Building – No Injuries Reported


A loud explosion rocked one of the buildings on Baal Hatanya Street in Bnei Brak on Sunday evening when a pipe bomb detonated inside the building. Bichasdei Hashem, no one was hurt in the explosion.

The explosion, which occurred just after 8:20PM Israel time, took place in a five-story building that is home to some 25 people. According to BeChadrei Charedim, one of the city’s council members lives in the building. It is not clear whether or not there is a connection between the explosion and that councilman at this time.

Police have launched an investigation in the hope of learning who is responsible for placing the bomb, which they seem to feel was intended for the city official.

According to a report issued by United Hatzalah, whose volunteers were among the first responders at the scene, no one was injured in the explosion. The fire department was on the scene as were the police and many ambulances. The building has security cameras and detectives and bomb squad personnel are combing the footage to ascertain whether there is any additional threat to the residents or the public.

This is the second pipe bomb to explode in Bnei Brak in a month.
