Hamodia’s veteran military correspondent was scheduled to speak in the Brachfeld community center in Modi’in Illit on Sunday evening but he canceled in response to a protest by Peleg supporters, who were against bringing a military correspondent to speak in the chareidi community.

The address was to have been given by Yisrael Katzover, who did an about-face when he saw the Peleg protest at the venue.

According to a Kikar Shabbos report, the Peleg was angered at the city for attempting to bring a speaker about the IDF into the back door as well as a person who is not chareidi. The Peleg activists decided not to keep their opposition bottled up, but held a protest outside the community center in Brachfeld.

The Peleg also protested at an address by Katzover over a year ago, in the Ramat Elchanan neighborhood of Bnei Brak. In that case, he was already speaking, and they broke in, in the hope of disrupting the program.

Talmidei yeshiva who attended that event tried to throw out the Peleg protestors and a confrontation developed between the sides, including throwing chairs at one another along with other objects. Only after Yassam police commandos came was order restored.

  1. Peleg is about the inability to accept an opinion other than your own. This is the root of baseless hatred that destroyed our temple.

Peleg leaders are irresponsible and border on evil. Their students are stupid and idiots.

Very bright comment for someone who’s knowledge about Peleg comes from YWN. (or maybe you are YWN hiding behind Kugel)
    Go educate yourself.

  3. Why are the Peleg guys busy with the social agendas? I thought they were so dedicated to learning that they would not even take away the few minutes of their time to register for the draft and get their pettur. I dare say they would be far more consistent with fulfilling Ratzon Hashem by abandoning this nonsense, and staying in the beis hamedrash. Absolutely NONE of the gedolim they cite that allowed demonstrations allowed so many, at the cost of so many hours of learning.

Meanwhile, I still await the media reporting the names of the mevatlei Torah so I can make sure to steer clear of these pseudo-learning boys when the shadchanim call me.

I personally know one Peleg rabbi, a disgusting arrogant frum macher who thinks he knows all but is in reality a stupid frum macher who hides under his super frum clothing.

Peleg is the worst group. Worse than meretz and worse than ISIL. Peleg is frum people off the derech who bother other frum people from doing their business. Come to Jerusalem and see them in action. Talk to them and see they are idiots.
