Deri: Yishai Left Politics & I Wish Him Well

Shas party Chairman Minister Aryeh Deri on Thursday morning addressed his former political rival, Eli Yishai, and his ongoing connection with the Yahadut Hatorah party.

In an interview with Yaki Edmak in the Walla News studio, Deri addressed the upcoming election and some of the parties, leading to a question regarding Eli Yishai, the former party leader.

Deri responded that Yishai left Shas, leaving political life, and “I wish him much success”.

When asked about Yishai’s ongoing talks with Yahadut Hatorah, Deri insisted “I did not get involved last time and I am not becoming involved this time either”.

This is not true, as in the past election, Deri used his political weight to make certain that Yishai was not appointed to the cabinet, giving the prime minister an ultimatum, Shas or Eli Yishai in the coalition.

  1. Eli Yishi did not LEAVE politics, Deri PUSHED him out. R’ Ovadia wanted both Deri and Yeshi to lead Shas since Yishi led it during Deri being in prison, but Deri, the biggest ego ever laid on S’fardim, could not share the spotlight with Yishi so he got him removed.

Deri gives jobs to relatives, friends and crooks that can help him, not to decent people like Yishi.
