Mispallalim Exiting the Churva Shul Were Attacked By Arabs On Motzei Simchas Torah

According to the Honenu organization, mispallalim were attacked in Jerusalem’s Old City on motzei Simchas Torah as they exited the Churva Shul. The attackers pushed border police and attacked mispallalim who exited the shul. One of the mispallalim who was injured filed an official complaint with police, only to be detained for questioning by police. Honenu attorney Chaim Bleicher sent a letter to police urging them to see the investigation through to the end.

He explains in the letter than Jews exiting the shul were attacked by Arabs, and when border police arrived, they positioned themselves between the groups. The attack, which occurred on HaYehudim Street, took place immediately as the mispallalim exited the shul after Yomtov.

Bleicher adds that when additional mispallalim arrived at the police station to file a complaint on motzei Shabbos, they were instructed to return the next day. He adds the border police witnessed the attack on the mispallalim and something must be done. He concludes there are a sufficient number of surveillance cameras in the area to substantiate his statements.
