Netanyahu Wanted Son Avner To Be A “Tanach Researcher” But He Opted For Archeology


Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu opened the weekly government meeting on Sunday by wishing all the [university] students a successful academic year, according to a BeChadrei Chareidim report. (In Israel, college begins after Sukkos.)

Netanyahu also mentioned his son, Avner, saying: “This includes my son Avner who begins archaeological studies in Jerusalem. Despite my attempt to direct him to be a Tanach researcher, he decided – at least at this stage – to go in this path.”

Avner Netanyahu won the National Bible Quiz in Israel when he was 15, in 2010. He then competed in the International Bible Quiz and came in third place.
