Israel Police Submits Prosecutor’s Statement Against Suspect in Murder Of Miriam Peretz A”H


Israel Police on Sunday filed the prosecutor’s statement against the Arab male in whose home the late Miriam Peretz A”H was found, a daughter of a chareidi family.

Police on Sunday, November 3, 2019, filed the prosecutor’s statement against Majid Ilan, the suspect in whose home the body of Miriam Peretz was found, a child of a chareidi family. The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court extended his remand for an additional three days to permit police and the prosecution to complete the investigation.

During the hearing, a confrontation developed between the family of the deceased and the suspect’s family. According to attorney Itamar Ben-Gvir, members of the suspect’s family began to curse and tease members of Miriam’s family and a confrontation followed. A family member attacked the brother of the deceased and he responded. Police took Miriam’s brother into custody.

Ben-Gvir said, “Apparently, the apple does not fall far from the tree. There is no limit to insolence. Their family member murdered Miriam and the family continues to go wild. Currently, I am working to have the bereaved brother released…”

Police report the investigation took them to Beit Safafa in Jerusalem, where the lifeless body of Miriam Peretz was found. The suspects remand was extended a number of times.

Kikar Shabbos News adds that the nifteres was known to authorities as she got lost and got into drugs. Her parents and siblings fought to save her by all means possible, but R”L they did not succeed.
