Israel’s Weather Includes an Unseasonable Sharav Heatwave

A slight increase in temperatures are expected throughout Israel today, Sunday, November 10, 2019. The unseasonably warm and dry temperatures are expected to continue in the coming days. Temperatures in northern areas are expected to be 6 degrees centigrade warmer than seasonable on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Nature Protection Authority forecast, ‘sharav’ heatwave conditions will prevail throughout Israel this week. The authority, along with the Israel Fire & Rescue Service, is concerned over fires breaking out due to the unusually dry conditions existing throughout the nature reserve areas.

Tuesday is expected to be unseasonably hot as well, with the high in Tel Aviv reaching 29 (84) and in Jerusalem, 26 (78).

On Wednesday, the heatwave will continue, but there will be a slight reduction in temperatures. Temperatures on Thursday will still be unseasonably hot, but once again, dropping slightly to 26 (78) in Tel Aviv and 25 (77) in Jerusalem.

There is no rain in the forecast.
