Dozens of Families Evacuated From Ramat Vizhnitz Due To Old Grenade

An old grenade was found buried in the earth in a courtyard in a local residence on Birkat Moshe Street in Ramat Vizhnitz of Haifa. The explosive had been in the earth for many years, and police sappers were called in to deal with the explosive.

During that time, the residents of the nearby buildings were evacuated by police due to the danger that the explosive posed. Dozens of families had to leave their homes until the device could be neutralized. Two full apartment buildings were completely evacuated until the bomb was disposed of.

The bomb and other remnants were transferred to explosives experts to determine their origin and to determine why the bomb was buried in the first place.
