New Driver Caught Traveling at 108 Miles Per Hour Down Major Highway in Israel

A new driver was caught by police traveling at 175 kilometers (108 miles) per hour on Highway 40. The police issued a statement saying that they are continuing to enforce traffic laws and gross violations that endanger the lives of other drivers on the roads with a strong emphasis on speeding violations that often are the causes of motor vehicle accidents.

As part of the enforcement measures on Highway 40 in the area between Be’er Sheva and the Lahavim Junction, a radar gun caught a driver traveling at the outrageous speed, where the legal limit is 90 kilometers per hour or 55 miles per hour. The speed at which the new driver was traveling was almost double the permitted limit.

After the driver was pulled over, it was revealed that they were just 20-years-old and are qualified as being a new driver. The driver lives in southern Israel. The officer who was present at the scene canceled the driver’s license for 30 days and summoned him to a court hearing.
