Labor MK Shelly Yacimovitz is one of the MKs standing behind Shas Party demands to increase monthly child allowance payments. It appears Shas is not alone in the party’s demands to restore the monthly allowance, which Yacimovitz insists is necessary towards combating the steady increase in the number of children and families living under the poverty line.

Restoring the child allowance in compliance with Shas’ demands will cost the state about NIS 900 million annually.
