Tuesday Afternoon/Evening News Briefs from Israel


ywnisrael.israel· Sirens sounded in the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council. Officials reported it was a false alarm. There were sirens on Shushan Purim in the Eshkol Regional Council, also reportedly a false alarm.

· Beit El residents protested on Tuesday afternoon outside Shai (Shomron-Yehuda Police HQ expressing concerns of a deteriorating security situation in the area of their community amid shooting and firebomb attacks from nearby Jalazoun.

· An additional 8,000 Israelis have joined the ranks of the disabled and the government has allocated an additional 110 million shekels to assist them. This includes 4,000 blind residents, persons diagnosed as mentally diminished and others with neurological deficits.

· An IAF chopper made an emergency landing in Haifa due to a malfunctioning rotor. B’chasdei Hashem the landing was uneventful.

· One fatality and one person in critical condition as a result of a MVA on Route 40 near Re’em Junction.
