SHOCK: Conservative Movement Wrote English Subtitles On HaRav Dov Landau Video

HaGaon HaRav Landau

On February 18, 2025, YWN received a letter signed by Hagaon HaRav Dov Landau, Rosh Yeshivas Slabodka, calling for “all Charedi representatives to immediately withdraw from Zionist institutions,” specifically targeting involvement in organizations like the World Zionist Organization (WZO). YWN has since uncovered that nearly every print publication that ran this letter was paid to do so, a revelation that raises serious questions about the authenticity of the campaign. For clarity, YWN was neither offered nor paid to publish the letter and has maintained its editorial independence.

Further investigation by YWN revealed an even more astonishing detail: a video statement released in late March 2025, in which Rav Landau unequivocally reiterated his opposition to Charedi participation in WZO elections, featured English subtitles crafted by none other than the Conservative Movement. The professionally produced subtitles, which enabled American Charedi audiences to clearly understand Rav Landau’s message, were strategically designed to amplify the video’s reach and impact. YWN is in possession of concrete evidence confirming the Conservative Movement’s role in this effort. In fact, we know the name of the person who placed the subtitles on the video.

The Conservative Movement’s involvement represents a meticulously orchestrated campaign to thrust this issue into the forefront of public discourse, achieving a level of prominence unprecedented in American Jewish history. By leveraging paid publications and expertly subtitled media, the movement successfully manipulated the narrative surrounding Chareidi engagement with Zionist institutions, raising concerns about external interference in internal Chareidi affairs.

Hagaon HaRav Dov Landau’s stance, as expressed in both the letter and video, remains clear: he opposes any Chareidi involvement in the WZO or similar bodies, viewing such participation as incompatible with Torah values. However, the revelation of paid publications and the Conservative Movement’s behind-the-scenes role casts a shadow over the campaign’s legitimacy, prompting questions about who stands to benefit from this controversy.

YWN remains committed to uncovering the truth and providing clarity to its readers. As this story develops, we will continue to investigate and report on any further evidence of external influence in this critical matter affecting the Charedi community. In fact, YWN can tell our readers with certainty, that this as well as the previous article published today are just the tip of the iceberg. In the coming days and weeks, information will be published that will be extremely shocking to say the least.

Stay tuned!

  1. Eretz Hakodesh has not produced a single ad with any significant list of Rabbanim signed supporting them, despite their obviously false claim of support by Gedolim and the significant resources they have. They do give a free comedy video if you sign up though… Oy.

  2. Shock
    Shocking
    Jaw dropping
    Auch boring recycled headlines.
Same ones over and over again. Just to get us to click.
For goodness sake hire someone new editors!!!

  3. No one has yet denied that Rav Landau is in fact strongly opposed to voting ‘Eretz HaKodesh’. All this article does is make the bizarre claim that it was really some sinister boogeyman (whose name is supposedly known to the nameless powers that be) who added the English subtitles to a video of Rav Landau saying what everyone knows already that he said. Here’s an idea: Let Eretz HaKodesh get a genuine video of some major living Gedolim who back them clearly saying so, and let THEM add English subtitles… Only problem is, there aren’t any…

  4. Wow. the mouthpiece of the “Eretz hakodesh” movement is getting sophisticated! Insuating that our heilige Gedolim can be bought off! How low can Anti-YeshivahWorldNews Stoop? Conservative movement what conservative movement? Spearheading? The gedolim have been against the Wzo for over 100 years. The real people who have been bought off are the Editors pf Anti-yeshivaworldnews receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars to plaster their site with wzo ads, all while feigning neutrality. All while hoping people believe they are doing this as bait click, Anti-Yeshivaworldnews is much more sinister then people realize.

  5. Another interesting observation: Many recent articles that have nothing to do with the WZO elections have comments that somehow manage to mention those elections and why they are so important and how this is the solution to all the problems of the Yeshivos who will suddenly get billions (?!) of dollars, etc. yaddah yaddah. Who is behind all these comments? Why is this such a hot issue with the Da’as Ba’alei Batimnicks, but not-hot-to-quite-cold with the Rabbonim? They can’t get anyone more serious than the cast of ‘Bardack’ to support them? This isn’t coming from a good place.

  6. >> we will continue to investigate and report on any further evidence of external influence in this critical matter affecting the Charedi community

    “FURTHER EVIDENCE”
You didn’t publish ANY evidence, will you ‘further’ assure use that you have definitive top-secret classified evidence for this?!

  7. NO ..ONE….CARES….it’s a ridiculous topic. WZO faking as chareidim, now conservatives faking as chareidim….nobody cares. Go home.

  8. Why in he world do we need the conservatives to translate the Gadol Hador’s daas torah? Where was the so-called Frum media? Who paid THEM to suppress the story? We will never know!

  9. See, now I don’t trust any of the comments here. Anyone can log on and pretend to be charedi and post comments here.
I voted on the first day, before anyone came out to vote for/against (or at least I didn’t know of any controversy). I think that if I hadn’t voted, I probably would not have voted once the controversy started.
However, now finding out that the conservative movement has been manipulating this who situation, I would have given thought as to why the conservative movement is desperate to get us not to vote.
Chances are, I would have then relied on Rav Shmuel Kaminetzky saying to vote, and I probably would have voted today. I just don’t like us being manipulated by the Conservative movement.

  10. Rebbitzen,

    Chabad spreads Yiddishkeit.
Chabad doesn’t get involved in politics. Especially not with the Zionist movement.

  11. 1)There is only one person recognized as one of the gedolei roshei hayeshivos who publicly has come out in support that is Hagaon Rav Avrhom Gurwitz shlita
(Although he says in the letter that it’s following the psak of shmuel and r Chaim which has now been proven as a mistake as his closest friend of 70n years rav landau testified) Anything else is rumors that even eretz hakodesh will not publicly claim so obviously can’t be relied upon)

2)All other gedolei hador who have publicly spoken on the matter have backed the person who is considered by most as the gadol hador (not by all but more than any other gadol) rav Dov Landau who said on a published video that he knows Rav Chaim was never matir this question and wrote that voting
יש בזה תמיכה בכפירה שמד וחילול ה
Sorry nothing I can do about that

It’s a free country but in such a situation where one gadol who’s not your rebbe is pro (btw I’m sure he doesn’t hold its an aveira not to vote but you can ask) and all the others say such chomur things
    Like
    It’s supporting kfira
    It’s supporting shmad
(Which the Gemara says is worse than murder)
    It’s supporting chillul Hashem
(Which the Gemara says only misa is mechaper)

if Rav Gurwitz is your rebbe and he wasn’t chozer its different but if he’s not your taking a big gamble so if your going to go down in history as someone who according to everyone else supported shmad you better enjoy it

  12. Many Gedolim hold you should vote, for the very obvious reason but they don’t want to come out publicly as there is no reason to give ammunition to the HOT HEADS IN KLAL YISROEL.

There are strong arguments to both sides, both mean L’sheim Shomayim, the 99.9% of voters have nothing personally to gain, other than to advance Kvod Shomayim and minimize chillul Hashem.

It was already mentioned previously that many big chasidic and Litvish rabbis hold you should vote and their chasidim are doing just that quietly.

Let’s remind the folks here that many Gedolim hold one should not take money from the Medina, and it’s the same Issur as the WZO, yet we don’t see the rebel rousers speak up, why? $$$$$$$$

Like every machlokes L’sheim Shomayim one should follow their rabbi, period!

  13. Dayan HaRav Shmuel Fuerst says on Matzav it’s a chov kadosh to vote for Eretz HaKodesh. That is good enough for me. The Dayan says if we don’t vote the money will go to the liberals who want to change the makeup of Yeshivos and even the Kosel. The video is on Matzav.

  14. This article is from yesterday’s matzav (dot) com 2025 April 24:
    =============================================

“In a powerful reiteration of his support for Torah-oriented engagement
with the World Zionist Organization (WZO), HaGaon Rav Avrohom Gurwicz,
Rosh Yeshivas Gateshead, has released an updated endorsement,
urging all shomrei Torah umitzvos to register and vote for
the Eretz HaKodesh party in the current WZO elections.

The new statement, dated today, 26 Nissan 5785, follows
and builds upon a foundational letter issued by Rav Gurwicz earlier,
in which he echoed the directive of Gedolei Yisroel — Rav Chaim Kanievsky ztl
and Rav Shmuel Kamenetsky shlita — emphasizing the critical importance
of Torah Jewry having a voice in decisions affecting Eretz Yisroel through the WZO.”

Today Urging Participation in WZO Elections on Behalf of Eretz HaKodesh”

    =============================================

    FULL DISCLOSURE:

I did NOT write even one word of this article.
I just copied it exactly, from matzav (dot) com.
You can verify this, by going to matzav (dot) com.

  15. I was told that Oorah, in the boxes they sent out for Pesach to their members, had a flyer encouraging people to vote for Eretz HaKodesh. They wouldn’t do so without the approval of R’ Mintz shlita.

  16. BenLavi613:
He also stated on that video that you don’t need to join in order to vote, which is obviously false. Have you asked him if that might change his opinion?

  17. אין לנו להישען אלא על אבינו שבשמים:
No gedolim hold you should vote, other than ones relying on lies by EH.
Taking money from the Zionists is a totally different matter, and there are indeed multiple opinions there.
