El Al Rakes In $69 Million As Yidden Were Stranded Across The Globe Following Houthi Attack On Ben Gurion

In the aftermath of a Houthi missile landing dangerously close to the runways of Ben Gurion Airport, thousands of Yidden were left stranded across the globe — some en route to Eretz Yisroel, others stuck abroad with their return flights suddenly canceled. As fear and confusion rippled through the Jewish world, a different scene was unfolding on the Israeli stock exchange.

With most foreign airlines immediately halting operations to and from Israel due to security concerns, Israeli carriers El Al and Israir became nearly the sole providers still flying. The result: their share prices soared, and their owners saw massive financial gains.

According to The Marker, Kenny Rosenberg, a frum businessman from the U.S. who holds the majority stake in El Al, earned a staggering NIS 250 million ($69 million) in just two days, following a 10% jump in El Al’s stock. At the same time, Rami Levy, a well-known Israeli entrepreneur and majority owner of Israir, saw his holdings rise by NIS 15 million ($4 million) after a 7% increase in the airline’s stock.

This windfall came amid widespread cancellations by international carriers, including major European and American airlines, who suspended flights until further notice. With few alternatives left, demand for seats on El Al and Israir surged, leading to a significant increase in bookings — and a parallel spike in stock value.

Meanwhile, thousands of Yidden remain stuck in airports and hotels around the world, uncertain when they will be able to return to Eretz Hakodesh. The situation has sparked frustration and deep concern among families hoping to reunite with loved ones or return home before Shabbos.

El Al and Israir have continued operating flights to key destinations in Europe and the U.S., providing a lifeline for those seeking a way back.

  2. You are Marba Machlokes through your being Motzei Shem Ra-B’rabim.
Noone earns anything unless one sells his share/stake, (which you would love in this case).
ELAL did not cause anyone to be stranded.
ELAL does not dictate share prices due to ppl speculating on the length of foreign airlines stopping to service TLV.
Using the term ‘Yidden’ to evoke sympothy does not give your despicable article legitimacy. Did you run out of hit pieces that you need to turn on us??
I am not jealous of your lot in this world and the one to come.

  3. “ELAl rakes in”

Why is this always presented in such a negative and resentful way against ELAl, as if it is nothing but some conspiracy they concocted together with Iran to rip-off the world??

We should be grateful to them that they are there for us when the rest of the world isn’t – and also recognize the fact that now that a yirei shamayim person is in charge they went from broke to successful, B’H!

  4. Thanks for constantly reminding us how wealthy they are getting and how greedy they are. Amazing how the government is concerned if a learner is getting their $200 a month so they could eat bread but doesn’t concern them the extortion of this Airline

  5. El Al is a business not a Haredi shnorror organization. It’s owners and shareholders are entitled to make money on their investment. No-one who left Israel is entitled to expect to be flown back to Israel for free if trouble breaks out. Israel is at war. If you live in a country at war that has a cost.

  6. Theyeshivaworld rakes in money off these ELAL articles. It helps sell advertisements.

Same with the ZOA thing. TYW likes to cause a ruckus and get more views so they can make more money
