The Israeli Navy carried out an attack on a power station in Sanaa early Sunday morning, causing power outages in several areas of the Houthi-controlled capital.
Yemeni media reported that there was “an attack in the area of the Haziz power station in the south of the city.”
Shortly after reports of the attack, Israeli security officials confirmed that Israel was behind the attack, which was carried out by Navy missile ships.
The IDF stated that ‘the strikes were carried out in response to repeated attacks by the Houthis against Israel and its citizens, including the launching of surface-to-surface missiles and drones.”
“The Houthi terror regime operates under the guidance of the Iranian regime to harm the State of Israel and its allies. The terror regime exploits the maritime space to exert force and conduct terrorist activities against global shipping passage and trade routes.”
“The IDF will act forcefully against the repeated attacks by the Houthi terror regime against Israeli citizens and is determined to continue to strike forcefully at any threat to the country, in any arena where it is required.”
The Houthis have launched 14 missiles and drones at Israel in recent weeks. B’Chasdei Hashem, all were successfully intercepted, and there were no casualties or damage.
The Israeli Navy carried out an attack on the Houthi-controlled Hodeida port in Yemen in June.
