MK (National Union) Uri Ariel and colleagues on Erev Shabbos will be visiting Akko to get a first-hand look at the situation following the Yom Kippur riots, as well as showing solidarity with the citys Jewish community.
The rosh yeshiva of the citys Hesder Yeshiva, Rav Yossi Shtern stated on Friday morning that about 2:30 on Yom Kippur, we could not believe our eyes, seeing not tens but hundreds of rioters in front of us, going from car to car, smashing windows and breaking things
Police remain out in force in Akko hoping to prevent a reoccurrence of violence in the racially divided city.
