A Misaskim delegation traveled to Eretz Yisroel on behalf of the Almonos and Yesomim of Project Yedid

A Misaskim delegation recently traveled to Eretz Yisroel on behalf of the Almonos and Yesomim of Project Yedid on a singular mission: to receive brachos and divrei chizuk from gedolei Yisroel for families who’ve lost a parent—and to have Chanukah dollars bentched specifically for them.

The rabbanim who benched the dollars were Rav Moshe Sternbuch shlit”a, Rav Dov Landau shlit”a, Rav Elimelech Biderman shlit”a, the Belzer Rebbe shlit”a, and Rav Dovid Yosef shlit”a. In addition they visited many other Gedolai Yisroel to receive brachos and divrei chizuk.
Every child in the Yedid family will receive a packet of these gebentchte dollars as part of their Chanukah package, along with Chanukah gelt, games, toys. The package lights up their hearts and homes, but it’s the brachos that become treasured keepsakes, held onto for years.

“The gebentched money is the most magnificent gift,” one Yedid family shared. “We opened it at the supper table and I read each of the brachos out loud… How special we felt that such great Rabbanim gave us such meaningful brachos.”
For children sitting around the menorah with an achingly empty chair, these packages—and the brachos they carry—remind them they’re never forgotten.
