Israel’s security establishment has identified a troubling and deliberate change in Iran’s missile launch patterns in recent days, Channel 12 reported.
According to the report, there is a clear correlation between Israel’s easing of civilian restrictions and Iran’s selection of targets, with Iran deliberately targeting areas where restrictions had been eased.
Officials assess that Tehran’s main goal is to disrupt any return to normal life by striking areas where Israel is trying to reopen the economy and public activity.
The data indicate that the range of fire has been significantly expanded toward areas classified as “yellow zones,” which had not been heavily targeted before. Notable areas now being targeted are Gaza border communities, the city of Eilat, and the southern Negev, where a surge in launches was recorded immediately after restrictions were eased.
Additionally, Israel has identified a deliberate effort to target Ben Gurion Airport, as part of an apparent attempt to impose an air blockade on Israel and disrupt operations at the country’s main international gateway.
In response to the growing threat, Air Force forces and air defense systems have been reinforced near key strategic sites. Efforts are focused not only on intercepting incoming missiles but also on improving precise warning systems, allowing daily life to continue as much as possible without placing entire areas under unnecessary lockdown.
Security officials noted that this evolving situation requires Israel to manage a highly flexible “emergency economy,” with rapidly changing guidelines in accordance with evolving threats from the east.
According to the assessment, the underlying message from Iran is to demonstrate to Israelis that “no place is safe”—and that any easing of restrictions will be met with targeted attacks, aiming to wear down the resilience of the home front and shifting the war from the military battlefield into the daily lives of every civilian.
