The IDF rushed new defense measures to IDF troops in southern Lebanon after Hezbollah released a video on Sunday showing FPV (first-person view) drones striking an Iron Dome battery, Ynet reported.
The video released by Hezbollah on Sunday shows two FPV drone strikes against an Iron Dome battery on Thursday and Friday, with the first strike showing a drone directly striking the battery. The second drone, launched the next day, purportedly struck a group of IDF soldiers next to the Iron Dome as they were removing the damaged launcher.
IDF officials confirmed that such a strike did occur, but did not confirm any details and said that the strike did not create any “operational gap” in northern Israel’s air-defense system. The incident, one of the most serious incidents during the so-called “ceasefire,” is still under investigation.
The IDF spokesperson said on Sunday that it was delivering thousands of meters of fishing nets to troops in southern Lebanon to help trap drones before they can detonate, an improvised measure amid many others, including firearms and technological detection systems.
However, according to IDF officials, no military has yet found a perfect answer to the danger posed by explosive drones on the battlefield.
The IDF announced on Monday that three soldiers were lightly injured in a Hezbollah FPV drone attack in southern Lebanon in the morning. Earlier on Monday morning, the IDF announced the death of Alexander Glovanyov, H’YD, who was killed on Sunday by a Hezbollah explosive drone attack.
On Shabbos, three reservists were wounded, one seriously and one moderately, by FPV drones in the Shlomi area near the border.

While they can come up with solutions like nets for soldiers in the north its only a matter of time till Hamas gets ahold of these types of drones, as they are the easiest thing to smuggle from Egypt. And with a range of like 15kms they pose a terrible threat for everyone who lives within that distance of Gaza.
Netanyahu decided he would rather Hamas remain in Gaza than to hand over control to the PA, the only party that was capable and willing to take control of areas the IDF cleared of Hamas. So he wasted a 2 year war in which hundreds of IDF troops gave their lives to where Hamas now poses a massive threat because the option of handing control to the PA didn’t appeal to him.
