The IDF announced Wednesday that it has struck approximately 550 Hezbollah terror targets across Lebanon since the beginning of the week amid escalating fighting with the Iranian-backed terror group.
According to the IDF, Wednesday’s operations alone targeted Hezbollah military infrastructure, command centers, and rocket launch sites in the Beqaa Valley and multiple areas throughout southern Lebanon.
Hours before the strikes began, the Israeli military issued an urgent evacuation warning for the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, nearby refugee camps, and surrounding areas.
Residents in specifically marked zones were ordered to immediately evacuate and move north of the Zahrani River as Israel prepared for expanded military operations.
“Prior to the strikes, steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the issuing of advance warnings to the population, the use of precise munitions, and aerial surveillance,” the IDF stated.
Israel says the intensified operations come in response to repeated Hezbollah violations of the ceasefire agreement and continued attacks targeting Israeli territory.
