The IDF on Thursday evening announced the death of Capt. Eitan Shmuel Lemberg, 21, of Mishmar HaShiv’a, an officer in the 75th Battalion of the 7th Armored Brigade, who was killed during combat operations in southern Lebanon.

According to the military, the incident occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. when a Hezbollah terrorist fired an anti-tank guided missile at an Israeli tank operating north of the Litani River. Capt. Lemberg was killed in the attack.

The IDF said that immediately following the deadly strike, Israeli forces responded with airstrikes and artillery fire targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in the area.
