TEFILLOS IN BRISK: Rav Avraham Yehoshua Soloveitchik Hospitalized Following Complications

The Olam HaTorah is davening for the recovery of HaGaon Rav Avraham Yehoshua Soloveitchik, Rosh Yeshivas Brisk, who was hospitalized on Thursday at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Yerushalayim following a deterioration in his condition.

Rav Avraham Yehoshua, 76, was reportedly taken to the hospital earlier in the day shortly after Krias HaTorah.

Sources say that last week the Rosh Yeshiva underwent a complex heart procedure at a hospital in central Israel, performed by a renowned specialist who arrived from abroad. Following the procedure, his condition worsened, prompting his hospitalization and renewed concern among his talmidim and admirers.

A sense of worry has spread throughout the Brisker community, though family members and close associates have declined to release specific details regarding his medical condition.

At the direction of his son, HaGaon Rav Yaakov Mordechai Soloveitchik, one of the Roshei Yeshiva, Tehillim were recited Thursday evening in the yeshiva’s main beis medrash. An additional atzeres tefillah has been scheduled for midnight at the yeshiva building on Rechov Press in Yerushalayim.

The tzibbur is urged to continue davening and beseeching Rachamei Shamayim for the complete recovery of Avraham Yehoshua ben Ettil.
