Israel: No Rain in the Forecast

While Israelis are enjoying the unseasonably comfortable temperatures, there is no rain in the forecast for the coming days, which follow a week of sunshine and dry skies.

Temperatures over Shabbos will be in the 70s and 80s, and forecasters report clear skies.

On 7 Cheshvan, residents of Eretz Yisrael began reciting V’ten Tal U’Matar Livracha with the realization the past winters have been drought years, and the Kinneret, the nation’s primary drinking water source is nearing its critical level, a level that experts warn will demand that all pumping ceases to prevent the potable water source from becoming irreversibly salinated, rendering it unfit for future use.
