Because of the petira of HaGaon Rav Yisrael Yosef Israelzon zt”l, son-in-law of Maran Rav Yosef Sholom Elyashiv Shlita, the planned election kenos on Thursday night in the presence of Maranan Gedolei Yisrael Shlita has been pushed off until motzei Shabbos. The event will be held in the Tamir Hall in Yerushalayim.
Hundreds of roshei yeshiva and prominent rabbonim were expected to attend Thursday night’s kenos.

Would the venue selected be because of the public statements made by Satmar that they intend on disrupting this?
Tamir hall is very close to Jerusalem’s biggest Satmar neighborhood, the area known as Kiryas Joel. It’s just a 5-minute walk from there.
Right, Olmei Beis Yisroel is even closer (right in front of it), but a 5-minute walk really won’t keep the demonstrators away.
If they want to keep the demonstrators away, they should make it in some ulam on Beit haDfus (between Kiryat Moshe and Har Nof). Plenty of ulamot there.
Can we have more information on this great Tzaadik and Talmud Chochom who was the Eidim by Rav Eliyashuv and the Shvogo of R’ Chaim? I had the Zchus to be by Rav Yisroelzon ZT”L for almost an hour last year. What an Anav, Talmud Chochom, Tzaadik and special person he was. He lived directly upstairs over Rav A.L. Shteinman. (The ceiling of Rav Shteinman was the floor of Rav Yisroelzon).
