Israel: Pregnant Woman Fighting for Her Life After Contracting Swine Flu

A 38-year-old eastern Jerusalem woman in her 7th month of pregnancy is fighting for her life in Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. She contracted swine flu and is currently admitted to an ICU and attached to a respirator. Doctors are deciding if they will deliver the baby by C-section.

The woman was admitted on Tuesday night and after her condition took a sharp turn for the worse she was admitted to an ICU.

Another pregnant woman was admitted to Assaf HaRofeh Hospital, also in serious condition with swine flu. Doctors delivered her child via C-section and while the infant is reported in good condition, the mother is still listed as serious.
