Ashkenazi Denies Beating War Drums in Lebanon

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-General Gabi Ashkenazi during a visit to the Meitav base denied media reports of concerning developments along Israel’s border to southern Lebanon. Arab media reports earlier in the week spoke of armored vehicles being positioned in southern Lebanon but the IDF commander stated the area is quiet and the military does not view the situation as worrisome.

He added the recent Katyusha warehouse explosion is proof that Hizbullah continues to violate the Second Lebanon War ceasefire agreement as is alleged by Israel, adding UNIFIL and the Lebanese army are dealing with the matter.

  1. “He added… UNIFIL and the Lebanese army are dealing with the matter.” LOL – Hey i didn’t know Ashkenazi was a comedian!!! But seriously folks… I guess when things heat up again, and thousands and thousands of rockets are flying into Israel from Lebanon, when Israelis are running to shelters, and Israeli troops are told to risk their lives by going in on the ground, but don’t shoot because you might hit an “innocent arab civilian”, Ashkenazi will just say “duhhh – but UNIFIL and the Lebanese army said they were dealing with the matter”. HaSh-m Yirachaym…
