Residents of Beit Yehonatan Seeking a Compromise

The residents of the top three floors of the seven-story structure in the Shiloach area of the capital known as Beit Yehonatan on Thursday sent a letter to State Prosecutor Moshe Lador indicating a willingness to evacuate the top floors in exchange for authorization for residents of lower floors to reside in the structure.

Attorney Yechiel Gutman explains his clients, the residents, are willing to seal the top floors in compliance with the High Court of Justice’s ruling, or alternatively to demolish the upper floors if required.

Gutman explained the matter of Beit Yehonatan has widespread ramifications, well beyond the lives of the residents of the multi-family structure. He is now filing with the courts to issue a restraining order regarding Jerusalem City Hall’s implantation of orders to seal the upper floors until such time the position of the residents can be addressed.

Gutman explains he is aware that the zoning laws in the area are about to change and they will accommodate a four-story building, confident this will legalize Beit Yehonatan, the structure named after Jonathan (Yehonatan) Pollard, who is serving a life sentence in a US prison.

  1. The warped sickness of the current Israeli courts and government is mind-boggling and heartbreaking.
For decades Jews worked, sweated, risked and even lost their lives to build a Jewish country.
NOW, Jews who are still mosair nefesh to build the country are demonized as “fanatic right-wingers” that are the cause for there not being “peace”. The homes and towns they build are demolished and/or evacuated by anti-Jewish governments that don’t remember the goals of even SECULAR Zionism.
The so-called “right-wing” parties are what used to be called left wing parties, and the left-wing parties are total traitors to Eretz Yisrael. Only what the left-wing media call “extreme” right-wing parties – like Ya’akov Katz’s (“Katzele”) Ichud l”Umi represent what Israel is supposed to be about.
    There is ONE redeeming fact.
One thought to help one keep their sanity.
One Light at the end of the tunnel.
When things are SO nonsensical, SO illogical, SO upside down as to be incomprehensible to any clear thinking person, it HAS TO mean that HaSh-m is pulling the strings. It HAS TO mean that HaSh-m is in control.
It HAS TO mean that Mashiach is around the corner.

  2. Ay Ay. I also concur.

It is so impossible to begin anything under the State. Never mind in the Holy City, or the ‘territories’. They resist any positive venture.
Whereas the Yishmaelites only let us ascend to the 7th step to pray in Hevron, at least we were allowed to breathe and build and live there by them.
