Meningitis Scare in Ramat Beit Shemesh Bet


There is a meningitis scare in Ramat Beit Shemesh Bet on Sunday morning, erev yomtov. Health Ministry physicians announced at about 10:00am that a five-year-old resident of the community was indeed infected with a contagious form of the illness, requiring all who were in direct contact with him on erev yomtov to get vaccinated. An estimated 150 people are expected to receive the prophylactic vaccine on erev yomtov, with the kupat cholim clinic opening at 11:15am and area chessed organizations providing shuttle service to and from the HMO to encourage all those who should to come forward and get vaccinated.

Anyone seeking additional information may call the information number established to address the case, 02-999-0000. Health officials stress the alert is not Beit Shemesh-wide, and only for those persons who were in direct contact with the confirmed case, the 5-year-old.
