Police were summoned to the Kosel on erev Shabbos after security personnel were suspicious of a 60-year-old tourist who was found to be carrying an unusual walking stick – containing a sword.

They learned the women had trouble walking in the alleys of the Old City and acquired the walking stick in one of the local shops, using it to get around until reaching the Kosel inspection station.

Apparently, the woman was unaware the walking stick contained the sword. Security personnel returned it to the woman but not before removing the blade.
