1.6 Million Israelis Learned Tikun Leil Shavuos


According to an Arutz-7 report, 1.6 million Israeli took part in Tikun Leil Shavuos, learning Torah in a shul or beis medrash on yomtov night. This number represents a 3% increase from the previous year, the report cites. The average person spent 3.5 hours studying Torah on Shavuos night, adding 13% of the overall number was women and 20% of the people identify themselves as ‘traditional’ or ‘non-frum’.

The cities with the largest numbers of Shavuos night participants were Yerushalayim, Bnei Brak, and Tzfat, in which at least 25% of the population took part in some form of yomtov learning.
