SOUTH BLOOMING GROVE NEAR KJ: Firefighters from the Village of South Blooming Grove Fire Department (Dept 60) responded to a kitchen fire that broke out in a Jewish home on Dallas Drive. The kitchen was fully engulfed in flames, but crews successfully prevented the fire from spreading further.
Assistance was provided by Independence Fire Company, Salisbury Mills FD, Washingtonville FD, South Blooming Grove EMS, Blooming Grove Ambulance, Chaveirim of Orange County, and the Blooming Grove Police Department.

Unfortunately, people do not want to pay attention to the fact that home fires do occur, and it is important to plan. Proper planning means means having an escape plan, and a safe way to quickly get out of upper floors including permanently attached fire escape ladders.
