EX- BBC EDITORIAL ADVISOR: “There was no ideology at play here, no party politics. If, for example, you take the example of the U.S. elections report that came before the committee, if it had found that it had been Kamala Harris misrepresented, not Donald Trump, I would have acted in exactly the same way.”

The person talking, Michael Prescott, is the person who wrote the memo saying that the BBC has been crossing its own editorial guidelines.
He is saying that his report wasn’t written on a partisan way; had the BBC been pro Trump instead of anti Trump, he would have written the memo as well, as he believes that the BBC needs to be unbiased.
He is NOT saying that the BBC wasn’t/isn’t biased – he’s the very guy who flagged up the issues in the first case.
