The brother-in-law of the Chabad Rabbi Eli Schlanger hy’d, who was murdered in the Bondi Beach terror attack, visited Ahmad Al-Ahmad in the hospital, honoring the Syrian-Australian hero who saved many lives. He said, “Thank you for your courage. The fact that you come from a Muslim background rather than a Jewish one makes it even more special. Truly, thank you.” Ahmad replied, “No matter what happens, we are all human beings. Regardless of religion, we must stand together and save lives.”
