The Trump administration has begun deploying roughly 2,000 federal immigration agents to the Minneapolis–St. Paul area as part of an expanded crackdown tied to fraud investigations in Minnesota.

The surge, one of the largest DHS deployments in a U.S. city in recent years, will run for about 30 days and includes ICE deportation officers, Homeland Security Investigations agents, and tactical teams.
