Spanish health authorities are on high alert as a cruise ship carrying a suspected Hantavirus outbreak heads toward the Canary Islands. The World Health Organization has confirmed three fatalities, while around 150 passengers — including 17 Americans — remain on board.

The vessel is expected to dock in Tenerife as early as Saturday, where all passengers will undergo mandatory medical testing before only those cleared by Spain’s Health Ministry are allowed to return to their home countries.
