Pentagon Reportedly Weighing “Operation Sledgehammer” Name for Possible Renewed Iran Conflict, NBC Says

NBC News reports that the Pentagon is considering rebranding the Iran conflict as “Operation Sledgehammer” if the current ceasefire collapses and major combat operations resume.

• U.S. officials said restarting operations under a new name could allow the Trump administration to argue that it resets the 60-day War Powers clock requiring congressional authorization.

• President Trump met Monday with senior national security officials, including Marco Rubio, JD Vance, Pete Hegseth and Dan Caine, to discuss next steps on Iran and the broader regional situation.
