Trump administration officials are encouraging the UAE to take a more direct role in the Iran war, including discussions about seizing one of Iran’s Gulf islands, according to a report in The Telegraph.

Figures close to President Trump suggested the UAE take Iran’s Lavan Island, which was reportedly targeted in covert Emirati strikes earlier this year. A former senior Trump security official was quoted as saying, “Go take ’em! It would be UAE boots on the ground instead of US.”
