PM Netanyahu: Trump Agrees Any Iran Deal Must Eliminate Nuclear Threat

In his first statement following his phone call with President Trump, PM Netanyahu said the two discussed the memorandum of understanding to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and upcoming negotiations on a final agreement regarding Iran’s nuclear program.

Netanyahu said both leaders agreed that any final agreement with Iran “must remove the nuclear threat,” including dismantling Iran’s enrichment facilities and removing enriched nuclear material from Iranian territory. He added that Trump reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself on all fronts, including Lebanon.

“My policy, like President Trump’s policy, remains unchanged: Iran will not have nuclear weapons.”
