Three Israelis were killed after a small plane crashed in eastern Maryland while flying from New Jersey to Montgomery County, less than 20 miles from Washington, D.C.

The aircraft was reported missing shortly before midnight, and search crews located the wreckage at approximately 3:45 a.m. after an automatic iPhone crash alert triggered a large-scale search. The pilot and two passengers were found deceased at the scene.

Maryland State Police and the NTSB are investigating the crash.
