As per the NYPD, all northbound lanes of the Gowanus Expressway at 6th Avenue are closed due an accident and all westbound lanes of the BQE are closed at 6th Avenue due to a police investigation. Please use alternate routes and expect delays.

Sources tell YWN that this is a pedestrian struck on the highway. The victim was transported to Lutheran Trauma Center where he was pronounced DOA.
